Making Success Safe: Healing the Inner Child to Step Into Your Bliss

Healing my inner child taught me to let joy and success flow.

When Success Doesn’t Feel Safe: 11 Years of Learning to Step Out of My Own Way

This week marks 11 years since I left full-time employment to walk the path of self-employment and build a business aligned with my soul.

Looking back, my journey is filled with milestones: three house moves, a divorce, four grandchildren, building a six-figure business, attracting my soulmate, releasing 3 stone of weight, and stepping into global opportunities I once only dreamed of.

But there’s another side to the story. For every success, there was a setback. I reached my dream weight — and gained it back. I built a six-figure business — and lost it. I met my soulmate — and watched it fall apart. For years, I felt frustrated and ashamed, and so did those who worked with me. People often wondered why someone so capable seemed to self-sabotage at every turn.

What I know now that I didn’t know then is this:

It wasn’t safe for the little girl inside me to have everything she ever wanted.

That inner child carried core wounds and limiting beliefs that whispered:

  • Money brings problems.
  • Love will eventually disappear.
  • It’s not safe to shine.

So even as the adult me achieved new heights, the inner child protected herself through self-sabotage. Not out of malice, but out of survival.

For years, I tried to fix it through discipline, hard work, and pushing myself harder. What I’ve learned is that the answer is not force — it’s healing. It’s creating safety for that little girl, rewriting the story she’s living from, and learning to operate from bliss, flow, and self-worth instead of struggle.

Two pieces of wisdom have anchored me along the way:

A friend once told me: “You will only truly know your worth when people have to start paying for it.” These words have guided me again and again as I learned to value my own services and stop underselling myself.

And my dear aunt, who passed away a few years ago, gave me a keepsake that says: “Never give up.” In my hardest times, this reminder has carried me forward, giving me strength and courage.

Today, I celebrate a real, imperfect, and beautiful journey. A journey that taught me self-sabotage is not weakness, but a signpost pointing to the parts of ourselves that need love, safety, and attention.

If you’ve ever wondered why you keep getting in your own way — whether in business, love, or life — perhaps it’s not because there's anything wrong with you, but because some part of you doesn’t yet feel safe to receive it all.

The good news? That can change. And when it does, success begins to flow effortlessly.

This is exactly what we focus on inside the Extraordinary Entrepreneur Membership — blending healing, inner child work, emotional intelligence, and business strategy so you can stop self-sabotaging and start creating a life and business that feels safe, abundant, and blissful.

If you’re ready to step into your next six-figure business, aligned with your soul, and supported by a community of extraordinary women, we would love to welcome you in.

Here’s to the next 11 years — not harder, but lighter. Not sabotaged, but supported. Not forced, but blissful.

With love and gratitude,
Candice
